Biography

Lucy graduated as a prize-winner from the Royal Academy of Music, and has since established herself as a busy freelance clarinettist. She has played with orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra and Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and been part of training schemes with the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Sinfonietta.
 
As a soloist Lucy has given recitals at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster Central Hall, Charlton House, and many other venues around the UK. She is in regular demand as a concerto soloist, and has played with the Oxford Proms Orchestra, All Souls Orchestra, New English Orchestra, Oxford Sinfonia, Banbury Symphony Orchestra, Hayes Symphony Orchestra and RAM Symphony Orchestra. 
Lucy specialises in bass clarinet, and has had several solo works written for her. She also plays many other instruments from the clarinet, flute and saxophone families, particularly in a musical theatre context. Her show experience includes Evita, Oh What a Lovely War, Liza (on an E), The Wizard of Oz, Company, Sweeney Todd and City of Angels.
 
Lucy is a member of the Juniper Woodwind Trio, with whom she performs regularly at prestigious venues such as Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace and the Tower of London. Lucy has played at the Wigmore Hall and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, among others, and been featured on BBC One, Sky TV, BBC Radio 3 & 4, and Radio France.
